The week in four fixtures
Abu Dhabi has stacked its art calendar into one November week. Frieze Abu Dhabi makes its debut on 19 to 22 November 2026 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, linking the emirate to Frieze's network of galleries and collectors. NOMAD Abu Dhabi, an art and design fair for collectible design, contemporary art and architecture, runs 18 to 22 November in Terminal 1 of the Old Abu Dhabi Airport.
The Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial opens in the Al Ain Region on 23 October and in Abu Dhabi from 15 November, with new commissions that stay on show into 2027. Culture Summit Abu Dhabi follows on 8 to 10 December on Saadiyat. Add the autumn leg of the Abu Dhabi Festival, which has concerts and ballet through November, and a visitor can fill a week without repeating a venue.
How to plan it
Fairs like these usually open with invitation-only preview days before the public days, and sell tiered tickets. Check each fair's own site for which days are open to the public and what a ticket costs, as neither is published here.
Saadiyat is easy to walk between if you pace it, but the two fair locations are on opposite sides of the city, so plan one venue per half-day and book transfers rather than relying on finding a taxi at closing time.
Between fairs
The best use of the gaps is the permanent collections: Louvre Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum are both on Saadiyat, and a long lunch on the island beats a third fair. If a group of collectors or sponsors is in town, an evening away from the stands, in the desert, tends to be the dinner that is remembered.
